Silversun Pickups 06.2010

Caught the Silversun Pickups show at The Ritz in Ybor. Heard the last song of the first opening act, The Henry Clay People, which was cool. The second opening act was Against Me, a Florida punk band with a lot of fans in the crowd. They sounded like a blend of Meatloaf and Quiet Riot. Stranger still, the lead singer looks a bit like Iron Chef Bobby Flay. They were loud. The Pickups came on stage about 10:00pm and would end up playing a 90-minute set. They offered ferocious energy to a sold-out crowd and I quickly became a fan. Go see them if you get the chance.
